This was one of my first experimental paper sculptures, playing with pattern and colour. It was commissioned for a campaign for a mental health charity ‘Changes’ in Bristol.
This is the original paper model and completely unique - it doesn’t exist anywhere else. It is made entirely from paper, the body structure is constructed from card and the texture is made up of thousands of hand cut paper tabs, meticulously hand glued freehand to create the pattern. Everything is made entirely from paper.

Changes Bristol has been running mental health peer support meetings in the City of Bristol for over 12 years. Their meetings are safe places for people to come and talk about their feelings and to take steps toward improving their lives.
I was asked if I could create a chameleon to represent how it feels to struggle with mental health, the design was used to raise money for the charity. There were two blind auctions to win a signed print at an event in Bristol.
